Our friend, Tony Swain, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Tony was a great Christian brother and friend to CIC. For more than 30 years you would find him at our trade show breakfasts helping at the registration desk, working behind the scenes in room prep, or interacting with our attendees. He served for many years on the CIC Board of Directors, as an officer of the group and as President for two years, helping CIC to grow with God’s continued leading.
Tony fought a valiant fight after a double lung transplant two years ago. Through it all he kept a sense of humor and a sense of hope because Tony knew that his true hope was in the person of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. The Gospel of John says the following, in Jesus’ words: “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:2-3 (NIV) Today, Tony is with the Lord, who promised life ever after with Him. Our prayers for solace go out to his widow, Pam, his daughter, Cathy, and to the rest of Tony’s extended family. Tony looked so much like the actor, Jeff Bridges, in “The Big Lebowski,” and he always enjoyed it when we told him so! Even in Tony’s passing, there is joy because we know we will see Tony again in God’s Kingdom, breathing freely and without pain of any kind. But for now we miss “The Dude.” Your friend, Jim Dickson
